Someone referred to me as a gem, that I am. I sit and give paw, run & fetch & return to you. I am totally house trained, sleeping all night until everyone else gets up, crate trained, good with cats, children & dogs. I also love the water, not afraid of too much of anything. I fit right in & total make myself at home. I am not bad on the leash either. I am young & need exercise. I get a lot with my foster brother & sister running in the yard. If you want a real friend that is me, I will follow you anywhere you go if you let me. I love to be loved. The picture goes without saying I am also pretty good looking.

Fabou is an adorable male Lab mix, about 4 months old and 23 lbs. He is very sweet and playful. He loves to run around the yard with his siblings. He can be a bit shy at first, but he is warming up nicely. These pups are really sweet!

Fairy is a sweet golden retriever/collie mix girl, about 3 1/2 months old and 10 lbs. She has all the loving, mellow personality of a golden but can still be shy around people. Our experience has found that dogs like this do best in a home where they can gain confidence from a doggie sibling to show them the ropes. Under the advice of our trainer, we will only adopt Fairy to a home with another dog. She is currently making great strides under the tutelage the other dogs in her foster home and becoming very affectionate with her foster parents. Fairy also gets along great with cats.

Faith is an adorable 9 week old pup weighing around 15 lbs. Joy, who is also listed, is her mom and she looks like a Setter/Bernese mix; we're not sure what breed her dad is. Due to an old injury, Faith's left ear flips back. We've been massaging it daily which helps it flop over. Regardless, she is adorable and has the sweetest, most loving personality. Faith is an adorable, quirky little Chihuahua mix, about a year old and around 15 lbs. Inside, she is a couch potato and easily entertains herself with chew bones and toys. She will follow you around and lies at your feet, on your lap or on your back when you're hanging out. She does like to sleep under the covers and will keep your warm on cold nights. If you decide to sleep in, she is fine with that and sleeps in too. Outside, she enjoys playing with toys, balls and we just discovered she likes splashing in water. She is very alert and attentive & sees every squirrel, bird or critter that crosses her path. For her size, she can be a bit strong on leash. She loves car rides and likes to sit in her foster moms lap for the journey. She loves to get attention from all people as she will run right up everyone with her tail wagging. She is a funny little girl! She is living in a foster home with cats and although she is fine with them, she would prefer to be a one and only pet. She likes all the attention on her and will bond closely with one person. She likes some dogs but not all. She can be a little mouthy especially when she's playing but it is not at all aggressive. She is cuddly, affectionate and house trained too.

Meet Faith! This stunning 2-year-old husky is as sweet as she is pretty! She's a petite girl, weighing only 35-lbs, and one look into those baby blues and your heart will flutter. She is currently in a foster home with 2 other huskies and although they are 9 years old, they cannot resist her adorable little dance and pawing to initiate play. She loves to go for hikes, watch squirrels, birds and other critters, and can pull a bit on leash. She has her moments of spunkiness and playfulness like any good husky, but then readily chills out either on the couch or nearby dog bed, especially after her breakfast and dinner, when she tends to go into a food coma. She is kissy, gentle, silly and an expert snuggler. She is housebroken and sleeps in bed at night with her foster parents and foster pups. Fancy came to her foster family with that name but anyone who meets her thinks she is a star so she has been renamed Fancy Starlet! She is a beautiful red pup, with feathered type fur on her ears. True to her star qualities she loves to be the center of attention and is always with her foster family. She also loves her food and will work for it learning new skills along the way. Fancy Starlet is great in the car, on a leash and at the park. She comes when called and is learning to sit. She is very energetic and would love to be part of an active family. As active as she can be she is totally calm when held in someone's arms or on a lap. Fancy Starlet is almost 4 months old.

Felix is truly one of a kind. Not only does he have a unique happy-go-lucky personality, but you'd be hard-pressed to find another physique just like this one! He loves everybody and is good with dogs and cats. He can be an energetic boy and loves his visits to the dog park. Despite those stubby little legs, he sure likes to run. He would love to have a home where he can get some exercise and play time, but because he's a big-time cuddler it's just as important that he get a lap where he can lay his head. He weighs about 40 pounds and is about 2 years old, and of course perfectly housetrained. He's being fostered with another dog and cats and gets along with all. He is sweet and devoted to his people and learns quickly. He would love a house with a fenced-in yard.

Fern can be a bit of a worrier in new situations, but after settling in she's an affectionate, happy girl. She's learning basic commands and is completely housebroken. She loves to go on walks and does well on the leash and when not on a walk she loves to curl up next to you. When you're home she wants to be right by your side, but is not upset at being left at home alone for short periods of time. She's extremely gentle with children so if she goes to a home with children they will need to also be gentle and respectful of her. Beautiful Ferrari...He is a handsome, green eyed boy that is about 8 lbs and 8 weeks old. His mother was a pure breed Border Collie and his father was a pure breed Australian Shepherd. Fetch is a Rat Terrier mix, about three years old and 22 pounds. A typical terrier, Fetch is a feisty and fun loving little guy. He loves to rough house with the other dog in his foster home and loves going for runs in the park with his foster mom. True to his breed, Fetch is an expert “mouser.†His foster mom has horses so Fetch
often accompanies her to the barn where he is very skilled at hunting mice! Fetch also seems to have an “off switch†and is happy to lounge on his bed and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. He also hugs you with his front paws by wrapping them around you. He would be great for older children who want a playmate and a cuddle bunny. is a beautiful dog with an unusual coat -- she looks like a Golden with a wavy coat like a Flat-coated Retriever. She is about 3 or 4 years old and 72 lbs (she could lose a few). Sweet, friendly and playful, she loves everybody and can't get enough cuddling or petting. She has a curious nature and always wants to know what’s going on. Fiona is learning about leash-walking and bath-taking (it was a mess but boy is she clean now!). Her housetraining skills are a work in progress but she seems to be a quick learner who wants to please. Because she thrives on being the center of her family's attention, she should be an only dog. She is calm when in the car, likes kids and is a dog who really wants to be part of the family. In just 36 hours in her foster home she figured out the routine and is living peacefully amongst the pack! (She even gets the privilege of sleeping on the bed!!!). She gets along with dogs and cats and loves to play with children. She likes her walks or romps in the fenced yard. Her favorite thing is kisses and belly rubs. She would enjoy the company of another pet. She is quiet in the house and is crate trained and appears to be housebroken, when on a schedule. Flower could fit into almost any family house hold!

Floxy is an adorable male Wheaten Terrier mix, about 7 months old, 15 lbs. He is a happy, fun, outgoing little guy. He does all the fun things that puppies do and is trying very hard to learn about going bathroom outside (he does give clear signals that he needs to go). His only flaws are that his tail never stops wagging and that he may be too perfect. Because he is a mix, we cannot guarantee shedding status.

Floyd is a fabulous fun loving 4 month old puppy. Rescued from the streets of rural Virginia he was brought up to Pet Rescue and is being fostered in a home with a whole pack of other dogs- and he loves it. He is sweet, gentle, and works very hard to please. He looks sort of like a rottie...but maybe a mastiff....and maybe a few other things but we are sure he will be a big boy. He is currently a sturdy 24 pounds of pure fun. Floyd is learning to walk on a leash and follow basic commands. He now goes to the door to ring the hanging jingle bells to go out so housebreaking is coming along quite nicely. This little guy will make a family very happy with all his kisses and snuggles.

Adorable Doxi Chi mix puppies, siblings: ​Floyd, Faye, and Frazier are about 6-8 lbs and 10 weeks old, friendly, active, intelligent, good watch dog, good with other dogs and with all people they come in contact with. They love attention, playing with their toys and with they're foster sister Maggie, an 9 year old Coton. We are working on leash training and after a good play time they all curl up and take a long nap. They sleep through the night and greet you in the morning with much excitement. Fluffy is 8 years old, but don't tell him. People think he is a 2 year old puppy, and don't believe us when we tell them how old he is. Fluffy looks and acts like a much younger guy. He has lots of energy, is almost completely housebroken, friendly with all and particularly loves children...and the feeling is definitely mutual. His foster mom takes him out to play with the kids on the block, and he brings them so much love...and he is having the time of his life playing with them. He is affectionate, and playful and just loves being with people and having a good time. In quiet times, Fluffy is a cuddler and loves to get comfortable on the nearest available lap. He is a "people pooch" who doesn't pay much attention to bigger dogs, and his play might be a little too enthusiastic for small dogs and cats. Thinking of adopting but not sure you are ready for the commitment? Want to save a life and be rewarded in wagging tails and kisses? Try fostering and become a part of Westchester Magazine's Best Animal Rescue Group 2008.
Pet Rescue does not have a shelter and relies entirely on the generosity of foster homes to care for our dogs. The number of foster homes we have dictates the number of dogs we can save. There are always more waiting for rescue.
The average foster lasts just a couple of weeks and all dogs are screened for health and temperament. We provide basic supplies, veterinary care, and guidance. You provide love, training and a home. It is the care and attention given by foster families which allow Pet Rescue to expertly match our dogs with prospective families.

Frankie is a handsome boy who is housetrained, up to date on all medical care and neutered. He walks well on a leash (does not pull) and has been "volunteering" as a therapy dog at a nursing home. He knows many commands and is clicker trained. Frankie is about 7-8 years old and 40 lbs. He has been living with a family since 2005. Unfortunately, Frankie did not adapt well when a new baby arrived on the scene. For that reason, he will not be placed in a home with very young (less than 15 years old) children. He would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner.

Both Milo and Frankie were taken from horrific hoarder conditions. It's amazing how well adjusted and calm submissive they are. They're doing great in their foster home and love being in your lap. Freckles is an adorable Cocker Spaniel female pup, about 8-9 weeks old and around 5-6 lbs. She has a parti-eye, meaning her right eye is part blue and part brown.

This adorable little boy is very outgoing and loving. He is very smart too and it seems like he is asking you what you expect of him. He is about 7 lbs and around 3 moths old. We suggest homes with older children for this pup since he is still very jumpy and has his little razor sharp puppy teeth. His mom is Daisy a 17 lbs mix breed, also looking for a home.

Fred
Fred is an adorable and cuddly Yorkie. He was rescued on the streets of South Carolina with two other Yorkies and arrived in NY terrified of people. Now after only a couple of weeks he is warming up and likes being held. Fred lives with other dogs and cats and is quite comfortable with everyone. He can be found most afternoons sunning himself in the yard or exploring all of the new scenery and vegetation. In the house, he loves to find a soft bed and watch what is happening around him. He is great in the car but still needs time to check out new places when he arrives at his destination. Fred is probably about 6 years old and up to date with his vaccinations. He appears to be housebroken. Fred needs a home with someone patient who will shower him with TLC -- no kids please.

Fred
Fred is an adorable and loving pooch rescued by a family vacationing in Anguilla. They were so taken by this Island Dog roaming the beach that after feeding and playing with him for the week they could not leave him there. The found a rescue on the island who vetted him and cared for him, brought him up to NY when he was all set and are now looking for a forever home for him. They brought him their vet in Eastchester who agreed that he is a wonderful pup. He is about 7-12 months old, 25 pounds and is fully grown. He is great with other dogs but the family's own pooch is not too happy to have another dog in the house. He is being crate trained and housebroken. Fred truly appreciates all the love and care he has been given. He will make a lucky family very happy.

Freddie is an adorable Lab/Hound mix, about a year old. He is very friendly, outgoing and playful - still very much a puppy. Freddie is deaf but it does not stop him from being a normal dog. Freedom
If you are looking for a gentle, loving and quiet boy, look no further than Freedom. This boy loves to give kisses and get belly rubs. He's house broken when on a schedule. He loves exploring the backyard and getting out his morning zoomies there. He sleeps through the night on any of the beds made available to him. He lies in the crate to relax with the door open. He is still learning to play with toys, does love the squeaky ones. He does not chew on furniture or shoes. He walks very well on a leash, does not pull at all. He gets excited by squirrels, birds and deer, and starts doing pirouettes, but does not fully tear after them. He is food motivated and should learn more commands easily. Wonderful Fresco... He is the most independent one of his siblings, but has a wonderful personality. His mother was a pure breed Border Collie and his father was a pure breed Australian Shepherd. These are working dogs and will need a home that understands the breed and is willing to work with them. Because of the intensity of these breeds, he will not do well in a home with children under 12. He is the 'observer' of the bunch, but is affectionate and sweet as can be. He likes to snuggle, but is happy to go outside and play with his siblings or the big dogs in his foster home. He sleeps through the night without a peep and is very happy to see you in the morning.

At about 1-2 years and 12 lbs, this adorable little girl is so well behaved. She loves to be with you and will follow you quietly and sit at your feet or in your lap. She is great with other dogs and cats and will sometimes play with them a little, but mostly, she loves her humans. She has spunk and such a great personality that you are sure to fall in love with her. She should be adopted into a home where somebody is around a lot since she will cry at first when left alone.

Frisco is a 14 month old mostly yellow lab mix. He is a very sweet dog that loves the company of people and other dogs. He adores children, although his size and vigorous tail waging, can be a problem for small children. He has boundless energy and requires a lot of exercise. Furby
Furby isn't just an adorable furry pup, he's really funny and one of a kind. He is around a year old and is a Pomeranian. Give him a bone or an ice cube and he'll be occupied for hours. He gets along with other dogs and fits in well with groups. This pup has amazingly soft and gorgeous fur almost like a Simba (Lion King,) dog. Furby loves to give kisses and would do best in in a home with children 8 years+. He's done really well in his foster home and will hopefully find a forever home that is as perfect as he is.

Fuzzie
Fuzzie is an absolutely darling 10 week old puppy and around 6 lbs. She will be a fabulous family dog! She is one of our favorite of all the litters we have fostered. She has a golden undercoat and a light blackish overcoat which is shedding out -- she is getting much lighter in color than when we got her last week. She also has some waves in her coat and little cocker spaniel curls on her ears. Fuzzie loves to play, but also loves to cuddle. She can be running around in full play mode, but if you scoop her up, she snuggles right into your neck. Fuzzie will approach you to be picked up and will follow you around, although she also likes to do some exploring! She is very, very smart, is getting the hang of potty training and will often come when called. She sleeps from about 10pm to 6 or 7am. I cannot recommend this puppy enough -- she is adorable, smart, playful, and affectionate. Our family would definitely keep her if we did not already have so many dogs. This is an exceptional puppy!

Fuzzy is about 6 months old and around 55 lbs. He still has quite some growing to do. He is calm but also shy in new situations. Like most large dog breeds, he has a nice and easy going personality. We would really like to see him in an adult home or a home with older kids due to his shyness.
