Hailey
Hailey is the best puppy in the world! She is around 11 weeks old and weighs 2-3 lbs. Hailey loves belly rubs, kissing everyone she meets and cuddling. She likes to play and is very curious, but her favorite past time is being on her foster mom's lap. Hailey is about the size of a kitten and looks so tiny next to her siblings Jazzy and Jasper and all of the other animals in her foster home. She is unusually calm for a puppy, but in a good way. Hailey is great with kids, cats and other dogs. She has an adorable underbite and is very different looking. We cannot guarantee anything, but we really think that Hailey will be a small sized dog when full grown. She is so easy going that the kids in her foster home were able to carry her around in a sock!! She is really the best little girl.

Hailey is a beautiful and very sweet girl. She is about 4 years old and weighs 45 pounds. Hailey is completely housebroken and loves to walk and explore, play tug-of-war and fetch, and can veg on the couch at the end of the day too. Hailey knows her basic commands: sit, stay, shake, down, etc. She sleeps through the night (preferable in her foster parent's bed) and follows her foster family around the house hoping for a scratch between the ears or a belly rub. When left alone, she waits patiently on the couch for her people's arrival home. Hailey does pull some on the leash if she sees an animal or another person, but she is learning to correct herself quickly when she does. Since she is a larger dog, and still a little active, it would be best if Hailey went to a home with older children. Hailey would like to be your one and only companion so she can have your undivided attention.

Beautiful, sweet, lovable girl. Haily is about 1 1/2 years old, housebroken and knows basic commands. She is a GREAT family dog who loves kids, shares her toys and bones with you and loves to play and looks like she is smiling when having fun. is a four month old frisky little puppy with a heart of gold—but she does like to chew and bite at feet and legs. She’s got the face of a dachshund, but she has legs. 15 pounds now, and the vet figures she'’ll go to 30.
She’s crate-trained and on her way to being housebroken—not there yet. Shots are up to date, and she’s been microchipped. Hallie needs a lot of exercise and playtime, preferably a fenced-in backyard to run around in, because she has a LOT of energy. She really does have a sweet soul but needs some training to stop biting at hands and feet—like most puppies, she thinks they’re chew toys. For that reason, advise no small children. Also no cats.

We rescued Hannah while she was pregnant and she gave birth to 2 beautiful pups on Valentines Day, Maya and Mollie Mae who were recently adopted, see past adoptions for their pictures. She is living in a foster home with 2 other dogs and her foster mom says she is truly the best dog in the world. She was a wonderful mom to her pups and now she needs a loving home of her own. She must go to a home with at least one other dog but the more the merrier. She immediately attaches herself to whoever shows her affection and she gets plenty of it from her foster mom. Harley is a beautiful Sheba/Shepherd/Lab mix, about 35lbs and 3 yrs old. He loves to be around people and is what we refer to as a "leaner." He leans into you when you kneel down to pet him and sometimes he leans on you when you walk him on a leash. He's a people pleaser, happier around his 'person' than other dogs, but he does get along with other dogs if properly introduced. He has not been tested on cats.

She is mostly house trained but will have an occasional accident. Harley loves people and will lick you to death. She is frightened of other dogs but with training will get adjusted. Being a small girl she needs a home without small children and would prefer a stay at home mom. Harmony is a beautiful border collie mix that looks like a mini flat coated retriever, about 10 months old and a great size at around 30 pounds. She is very sweet and playful, she may take some time to warm up at first, but once you're in her "pack" she will love you forever! She spent the first part of her life with very little socialization so has been spending the later part of her life learning the wonders of being a pet and what it's like to be loved! As you can see in the pictures, she is taking to it well and can be quite the snuggler! :) She must go to a home with another dog to play with and should not go to a home with children under 10. She is extremely smart and will quickly pick up whatever skills you throw at her, she would probably do very well in agility too! She will need an active home that is willing to make her "work" and to continue to train and stimulate her! She lives with cats as well but may be best off in a house without cats as she has a tendency to try and "herd" them. She is great on a leash, is wonderful in the car, is crate trained and housebroken too! While she can still use some TLC and some more socialization whatever love and effort you put into Harmony you will get back tenfold!

He is a little reluctant to walk on the leash, but walks better with another dog with him. He's great with the 6 dogs in his foster home but loves to chase cats. He lost his home in Texas because of the hurricane and interestingly enough he was named Harvey before the storm. Since his relocation to New York Harvey has made so many new friends and shares his foster home with a canine brother and a sister. Even though Harvey is a love bug because of Harvey's size and strength he should go to a home with children over 12. Harvey is a very smart boy who loves to learn and is a total foodie! Hi my name is Heather and I am a 3 yo Beagle. I am very sweet and love to get belly rubs. I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home. I am not too noisy but will bark if I hear a noise that is unfamiliar. I am a true beagle and have an awesome nose. I love to sniff everything on my walks. I could use some leash training, but I do love to go on walks. I am a little unsure about cars/trucks that zip by me and I am learning to share the street with people. One minute she’ll be bouncing up and down, pouncing on a squeaky toy or gnawing on a bone – the next she’ll be up cuddling quietly in your lap with her head resting on your chest. She loves everyone she meets and does everything with great gusto and boundless energy. Only a year old, we think of her as a Papillon/Pomeranian mix because of her coloring and fluff, but no one knows for sure. She’s quite good at entertaining herself but loves to play with other dogs too. She thinks cats are a novelty and like being chased. Heidi is a Terrier/Hound mix, about 1 1/2 years old and 45 lbs. She is such a sweet girl who is very tall, lean and has a wiry coat. Heidi loves all other dogs and cats too! She can appear shy at first when confronted with new things, but l it does not take long for her to adjust. It took her about 5 minutes to fit into her new foster home with 2 other dog friends and 5 cats. Heidi would do est in a home with another furry sibling to run and play with. She is great on a leash and will jog with you. Heidi answers to her name and comes when called. She is active but will settle just as fast after some stimulating activity. She loves to be with her people and will follow you anywhere. Heidi does not bark much, travels well in the car, is house broken and sleeps quietly in her kennel at night. Heidi is a very loving girl with a wonderful temperament. She would make a wonderful addition to just about anyone home!

Update 5/24/06 Helen went to an eye specialist today who determined that she is totally blind from Glaucoma. This has been a long standing condition that had not been treated at all causing total disintegration of the optical nerve. Her ocular pressure is extremely high causing pressure and pain. She developed the condition as a result of inbreeding. She probably was kept in a cage and used for breeding purposes. She will have both eyes removed and two prosthetic eyes will be inserted for cosmetic purposes. She should be fine after that. Her surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday. Helen is very sweet and shy. She will need a loving home that will have the patience to socialize her. She is not timid or fearful- just not very interactive at this point. She is housebroken and does well in the car. She doesn't hide from the other dogs in her foster home - just not interactive with them. She bumbs into everything and will need a home that give her the time to adjust to her new surroundings. She is a very, very sweet girl.
Helen is a beautiful Cocker Spaniel, about 5 years old and 22 lbs. She will be going to our vet this week to have her eye examined. She seems to be blind in 1 eye. Despite this, she is happy to be petted and wags her little butt with joy.

Henry is a sweet natured 8-year-old minpin with some issues that are leaving him with few options. Can anyone help? Pet Rescue pulled him from a local shelter where he was living in a tiny cage, unneutered, with upper respiratory, terrible teeth, a gunky eye, and a damaged dew claw. We neutered him, got him healthy again and treated what turned out to be dry eye. However, it seems that he has a bit of an unpredictable streak. Over a four-month period he snapped twice and bit his new adopter. They were not severe bites but they were enough to get him returned and let us see that he needs to be adopted by someone with a firm hand who can teach him about rules and acceptable behavior.
His adopter says he was a dream to care for, be with, and come home to. He was wonderful on leash, a great companion, and he loved long, smelly walks. He loved cuddling in bed and on the sofa. He is never destructive and goes willingly to his crate to snuggle under the blankets. She said that if his unpredictable hostility were to be controlled, he would be a perfect pet. Now in a temporary foster home, he gets along with the dogs and cats (although he chases the cats and isn't keen on the strange dogs he meets on the street) and is a very easy dog to live with.
We are so sure that he would thrive in the right hands and be able to enjoy his golden years but we have nowhere for him to go. Because he can be unpredictable, we don't think he should be in a home with children.

Henry is an adorable ten and a half week old, male puppy. His mother was a 10 lbs Jack Russell Terrier who was very calm and sweet, and his father was a mellow, friendly Italian Greyhound who weighed around 30 lbs. Henry loves to play with his siblings, Todd and Trouble. He was the runt of the litter and is by far the calmest and most cuddly! His coat is different from his siblings, very short and more similar to that of a greyhound. He was raised around kids, cats, and many other dogs and just loves to give kisses and cuddle.

Hobie is a very sweet boy. He may be a corgi/dachshund mix. He is 13lbs and about 1 1/2 years old. He is crate trained, loves going for walks, but mostly loves the company of other dogs to give him a little confidence. He is affectionate, gives smooches and will be a loving companion. Since he is on the reserved side, we think he would do well in a home with another dog. He is totally enjoying life in his foster home with his foster siblings and back yard to explore. Well, we had to name a breed to put this sweet boy on the website. Since we are not sure what he is, we had to go by looks. He has to ears (not the short legs) of a Corgi. He has the body (small version) of a Basenji with beautiful red ticking on his white parts. I am sure there are a few other breeds in him too. We could just go on guessing. The one thing we know for sure is that he is a great boy. He LOVES attention and is so gentle when asking for it. He gently lifts his paws up on you and makes you feel like he wants to crawl into you. He is a real lover boy. He is about 1--2 years old and around 22 lbs. We are not sure if he is house broken. Honey-bunny is a female pekingese about 2 years old. Honey is a sweet, gentle, happy little dog. She is great with dogs and cats. She is house trained to use wee-wee pads and goes outside. She is good on lead and likes her walks and the dog park, but a secure fenced in yard is fine also she knows to come when called. She is crate trained and almost never barks, she loves her treats and knows to sit for them but hasn't discovered how to play with toys yet. Honey was rescued from a hoarding situation so she was never socialized with people. She is shy until she gets to know someone and then you get the happy dance when you get home and a constant shadow. Honey needs a quiet home with no young children and a patient, loving person with experience with dogs that is willing to give her a chance to blossom. She is a pleasure to foster and i know she will be a wonderful addition to a loving home.

Unfortunately their Mom & Dad are getting a divorce so they have to find new homes. These dogs do not have to stay together. Both are god with other dogs and like children. Cats are generally ignored. These dogs are socialized and mannered. A romp in the park and some cuddling at home is all it will take to give these girls a new leash on life. Hopper is a great four month old beagle/lab mix. He came to his foster home shy and hesitant but within two weeks he is the leader of the pack. He loves to play tag with his foster brothers, start wrestling matches and explore the back yard. He shares his food and toys and loves to snuggle. When he is played out he curls up on a pillow or in with the pile of puppies he lives with. Hopper is a great sleeper and he is not a barker. Hopper is about twenty pounds and has very long graceful legs.

He gets along great with other dogs and doesn't pay any attention to the cats in his foster home. He is housebroken but prefers not to be crated, he sleeps through the night in his foster family's bedroom. He's a little reserved at first and probably won't be best with small children that can be a bit unpredictable at times. Huck needs a home with another dog and an experienced owner that will help him build confidence and be properly socialized.

Huckleberry Finn
This beagle boy is the best beagle you will ever meet. He is very happy-go-lucky and good with everyone. He seems to get along with the cats too. He will happily sit on your lap and cuddle, but will play if you want him to. He does whatever you would like him to do! Whatever you want, he wants. He is so good and sweet. Great with dogs and people too. You couldn't ask for a better boy! He can't be left outside in a yard without supervison, his Beagle nose will lead him astray. He is about 1-2 years old and around 25 lbs.

These two pups are very sweet and we think they will grow to about medium size dogs. They are about 10-14 weeks old and around 8 lbs. They are happy and outgoing and love to play and cuddle equally. Huck is a male, Finn (the darker one) is a female.

Hudson
Hudson is a beautiful eight-year-old Golden Retriever mix, weighing about 60 lbs. She came from a loving family who had to move abroad and couldn’t take her along. She has settled beautifully into her foster home, quickly forming strong bonds with the family. Hudson may alert bark at the doorbell, but will greet visitors with a wagging tail. She has a quirky side — she “smiles” when you pet her head, spins when she’s unsure, and adorably reaches up to give you a hug to let you know she has to go out. Hudson loves being with her people, and is fully housebroken, yet will easily use the fenced in yard to pee if a walk is not available. She has been trained to “sit” and “wait” while her dinner is being prepared and served or water is being refilled. She loves to be petted on the head and will greet her family by pushing her head into their hand. Like many dogs, she is not a fan of the vacuum, but happily goes to another room when asked. She sleeps in a bedroom but is happy to sleep anywhere… as long as she is in a room with people. Hudson likes other dogs, will accept visiting dogs in the home, is friendly when meeting other dogs, but loves her family's attention, and is happy as the only dog in her forever home with adults/older kids. She walks nicely on leash, enjoys hikes, walks, and backyard romps, and will never turn down a game of fetch. Hudson is a 2-year-old large Boxer mix. He's very intelligent, learns quickly, and is always looking to please. He's a high-energy dog who will need plenty of playtime and attention as well as a fenced-in yard. When not running outside, he's a total snuggle pup who just wants to sit with you. When properly exercised, he walks well on a leash but can pull when he gets excited. Hudson is working on his social skills and needs to be introduced slowly to new people and dogs. Humphrey is about 1-2 years old and seems to be a pure breed West Highland Terrier. He's fun and spunky, presenting the look and characteristics of the Westie breed. Humphrey is house trained and loves to play with toys. He gets along with other dogs but would be completely content as an only dog. He is a true terrier and would be best suited for a mature, calm home (no kids younger than teens as he can still be nippy when he plays). If you're a fan of the breed, Humphrey is the man for you. Hunter was found abandoned in a park and taken in by a wonderful, caring individual. You'd never know he was ever living on his own because he's such an engaging, people oriented puppy. He's completely housebroken, well mannered and polite. He knows a few basic commands - sit and down, and is working on come and stay. He walks well on a leash and though has never been to a dog park I would think he would love it. He's really enjoys playing with other dogs. Hunter loves toys of all kinds and is happy to share them as well as his food with his foster siblings. Hunter is a 23 month old, pure breed beagle (with AKC papers). He and his brother Sparky were purchased as puppies to be hunting dogs, but were never trained and ultimately given up because the family could no longer care for them. They are as sweet as can be and just learning about how to be a pet. Both boys have sweet soulful eyes and a happy disposition. As you can see from the video, Hunter loves the company of other dogs and we think he will do best in a home with another dog.

Hunter is a super handsome Akbash, about 11 months old and 96 lbs. He is very sweet and friendly. He lived in a home and had to be given up when one of his people developed a health condition. He loves ice cubes, rides in the car, and swimming in lakes. He slept with his person every night and lived with other dogs. Big but graceful, Hunter can hop a short fence, so he must have a 5 foot fence (minimum) in the yard. His former owner says, "He is destined to be a GREAT dog; he is smart, funny, affectionate, and a leader, not a follower."

Hunter is the sweetest, gentlest and mellowist foster this experienced foster family has ever had. He is 12 pounds and about 4 years old. We were told that he was a Yorkie but with those ears, he may have some Rat Terrier in him. He gets along with all of the dogs and cats in his home, shares his toys, is housebroken, and loves to go on long walks. He is also great in the car. He just loves being where ever his family is. Hurley
Hurley is a 2 year old tan male wirehaired terrier mix, about 10 lbs. Hurley is absolutely adorable and loves all people. He is very active and playful, but also loves to cuddle up on the couch and get belly rubs. He is good in the car and housebroken when kept on a regular schedule. He is great with the cats in his foster home but can be defensive initially when meeting other dogs. What a little joy this dog is, he is so happy and playful, but quiet at the same time.

Hurley
Hurley is a great medium sized dog who is both super athletic and affectionate. He is an active boy who loves to play fetch, and is skilled at retrieving tennis balls. Hurley also loves hikes and is very well behaved in trail environments. He comes immediately when called and stays close to his owner. He likes to chill and snuggle up on the couch, and is also curious and excited when new people come around, and he can show off his toys. He is fully house trained and great with all adults and grown children. Hurley walks nicely on the leash, but is protective of his owner during walks when coming across other dogs. He gets along with some dogs... but not puppies or smaller dogs. Hurley is a smart boy and very food motivated...and with treats, is quick to learn new tricks. Unfortunately Hurley is not comfortable around small children, puppies or cats and wants to be your one and only 4 footed friend.
