Jamie lived with his human companion up until a year ago when she got married and moved away and left him behind to fend for himself. Being shy, but altogether resourceful, Jamie made regular visits to a neighbor's house to be fed each day. It wasn't until recently when a rescuer inquired at Jamie's house why he was so hungry, and outside 24/7 that she found out that in fact, Jamie was out on his own all this time, homeless! JELLYBEAN has moderate feline cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), which is a non-progressive, non-contagious neurological condition that results in walking and balance problems. Cats with CH have normal life spans, and often compensate for their condition.
JELLYBEAN would need a home with carpeted flooring allowing her to move around easier, and where her family could "baby proof" the house a bit so that sharp corners or heavy objects aren't an issue. She can take some steps just fine, and is totally litter trained. She just needs someone to see past her disability and love her for the great kitty she is!

Jilly is a soft plushy calico with a meld of colors - a bit like a stuffed animal, and just as cuddly. About two years old (3/1/15), she's the kind of cat that doesn't need a lot of warming up. She takes to people right away and will come up and push against you to be petted. She allows herself to be picked up and has a quiet easygoing nature. Chasing a feather on a stick is fun! She is in a foster home where we are hoping she will get used to animals siblings if given a chance. We are sure she wouldn't mind being a one and only!

Our Jimbo is a bit rambunctious, but not a mean bone in his youthful body, and he gets along well with other animals. This 4 year old declawed cat named Jinx was left alone in a Bronx apartment when his owner left. Neighbors fed him for months and when he finally got booted out, a good Samaritan took him in temporarily, This amazing young adult kitty adapted quickly to his new digs, is super friendly and is so eager to be held and played with that he won't sit sill for the camera. He is a super sweet love bug who now resides in one of our best foster homes where he gets along with other cats, is around dogs and kids.

Joanie (named for one of our volunteers who rescued her), was being fed at a hair salon in Rye. The owner contacted Pet Rescue and Joanie was brought to our clinic. Scared and very timid for a few days she has responded superbly to the loving care given at our clinic. Her next step is a foster home where she will be waiting for the right applicant to bring her to her forever home. Born on July 4, Joanie has all her age appropriate vaccinations.

JOEY a lithe tabby was flown to Pet Rescue from California with his brother when the woman who rescued them from the street went to a nursing room. Joey needs a home with someone who will be patient and nurturing because Joey is shy but he does respond to loving attention. Recently while trapping an injured cat, Joey's foster mom noticed he was flirting and blinking at her and decided to give him a chance. She discovered quickly that Joey is a lover boy! Craving human contact and attention-he climbs up on his foster mom, places his paws on her shoulders and hugs-hugs-hugs!

Johanna is a very social, confident, friendly girl who loves to play and have attention but also likes to take long naps in her favorite napping spots and look at the birds outside the window. Once a confused heartbroken girl, she has transformed into her own unique confident self.
