Lacey is an absolutely beautiful Setter mix, about 1 year old and around 35 lbs. She is a very sweet girl, full of love and kisses. She gets along with everyone and likes to stay close to her humans. She runs around the backyard and always comes back when called. She loves to cuddle and sleeps very quietly at night in her crate. She is already housebroken, spayed and up to date with all her shots. Lacey will make a wonderful addition to any family.

Lacey is a gorgeous 5 year old 65Lb Golden Retriever rescued from life in a cage making babies as a breeding momma. Since she was under socialized for most of her life, Lacey understandably is unsure of her new found freedom and is quite timid. This girl is so sweet, likes other dogs and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. We have seen huge progress already and she gives lots of tail wags. Lacey MUST go to an adult home or with older children with another confident dog, a fully fenced yard (no electric fence) and she requires an experienced dog pawrent with patience and time. She is doing great with her housebreaking and needs someone home often to help work with her on her separation anxiety. She can get herself into mischief when left alone and is Houdini with every crate that was tried. We can only imagine that since she lived in one for years, she is petrified to go back in. Lacey will thrive in the correct environment and another social dog to show her the world is a safe and fun place. Lacie is a gorgeous female Spaniel mix around 1 year old and 20 lbs. She is a little shy but totally snuggly. She could snuggle all day long. But once she gets going, she can run and run. She is an easy girl that gets along with other dogs and cats and is not demanding. She does get shy with new things and lots of noises. A quiet home would be better for her. Lacy is easy going, smart and loves curling up in your lap and giving kisses. She sleeps thru the night in her crate and appears to be housebroken if kept on a schedule. is a beautiful Pekingese rejected by a breeder because she is an albino. She is about 4 years old and 15 lbs. She is very, very sweet with sparkling blue eyes. This little girl walks nicely on leash without pulling and is very calm. At home, she is a couch potato and loves just cuddly up with her people. She will happily fall asleep in your arms. She can be a little dominant with other dogs but seems fine with cats.

is a beautiful puppy! She can be a little timid at first, but once you coax her a little she comes right out of her shell and licks you and hugs and you and is just all over you! Lady is very playful, but also very cuddly--the perfect combination! She is more than double the size of her brother, Taz, and her cousins, Gracie's pups. We have no idea why she is so much bigger than her relatives! Lady was born on July 14th (2006). Lady is very attached to her mother, Hannah. She is a totally different dog around her mom. Lady is a 8-9 month old mini German Shepherd mix, weighing about 30 lbs. She is very outgoing, friendly and loves to play... she is always smiling. She is in a foster home with 2 other dogs and enjoys their company. This spunky girl would love a family that is fun and active - another playful dog in the house would be ideal. Lady is mostly house broken. She sleeps through the night in her crate and in the morning she greets you with lots of kisses and wants her belly rubbed. Hi, I'm Lady, a beautiful, friendly and devoted pup. I have a soft coat, a calm, loving nature and I'm pretty smart, if I do say so myself. I am super-affectionate and crave attention and cuddles from my humans. My foster family says that I am the best puppy they have ever had - and they're right. My top four things to do: hang out with my foster family, play, eat and sleep. I love kids, adults, other dogs, chew toys and being outside. I am doing very well with my housetraining and like to nap in my crate. I am really, really special - my foster humans tell me that all the time. Anyone would be very lucky to call me family. I am not a big barker but when I do bark, it usually means that I need to use the facilities. I might have some Swiss Mountain Dog in me, because my sister, Princess, looks exactly like one.

Laika
Laika is a lovely 1-2 year old Mix (in the South, they would call her a Feist) and around 16 lbs. She is much smaller than she looks in the photos. She is very calm in the house and loves to sit on your lap, but is not demanding about it. She will hang out near you and sleep at your feet just as happily. She sleeps through the night in her crate without making a peep. She seems to be house broken too. While she is great with other dogs and cats, she does not like to share her attention with them. As a result, she probably would do best as an only pet or another quiet pet like her. She is great on walks and goes to the dog park regularly, which she enjoys very much. She is one of the most lovable dogs the foster mom has fostered in a long time and just so even tempered. She is a real joy and very smart too.

This cute little girl is very cuddly and affectionate. She is about 1 1/2 years old and around 45 lbs. Laila was born with hip dysplasia and was evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon as well as consulted with by the orthopedic dept of Cornell University Vet School. It was determined that she is doing so well that surgery is not needed at this time. She is wonderful on the leash and also loves playing with other dogs. She is very affectionate and loves everyone. Her hips are also doing great with exercise and a good diet. Her small size works in her favor. Her elbows are slightly turned at an odd angle but again have not caused her any discomfort. She should lead a very healthy life with exercise, good diet and a loving home.

Larz is an adorable Lab/Great Dane mix weighing about 45 lbs who very sweet and friendly. He is learning to walk quite nicely on his leash and starting to love his walks through the neighborhood. Lassie, (aka Foxxy), a year old and 18 lbs., is the most beautiful and petite Sheltie mix who looks just like a fox. She is a little timid with new people and loud noises and even though she sure does love her squeaky toys which she rolls with and shakes around in her mouth, she would do better in a home that does not have small children. Foxxy, who gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, immediately fell in love with her teenage foster mom and follows her around including into bed where she likes to sleep and cuddle. This dainty girl has the cutest ears that are always doing something, loves belly rubs and giving little kisses and while she is currently learning basic commands, she is already housebroken. Hi my name is Laverne and I want to know what happened to my tail? I am an adorable pup, about 8 months old and 38 lbs. I’ve adjusted beautifully in my foster home in such a short time. I am very well behaved, gentle, calm, but most of all I am sweet. I am housebroken, sleep though the night and only chew on my dog toys. I live with 3 other house mates and would rather not be the only pup. I enjoy meeting other dogs, going on walks and romps at the dog park. I am also good with cats. The best place for me is in a home that doesn’t have real small children. They might try and pull my tail, oh yea, I don’t have a tail. Won’t you come and meet me. You can see I am a beauty, with a personality to match.

Layla is a sweet and mellow 15-16 months old, 25 lb black lab mix (with some sort of hound, she loves sniffing around!). She's as happy sitting beside you on the sofa as she is dragging you on some adventure through the woods. Very friendly with children, adults and other dogs (we don't know about cats). She is crate-trained and housebroken. When you get home to her, she's happy to greet you with a hug and some crazy dancing. She can chew through a leash or a shoe in a matter of seconds so she needs a home where she can be kept safe (i.e. dog-proofed). She only barks when absolutely necessary, which is almost never. She never complains about going in her crate, but her adopted family should be able to spend time with her throughout the day, so she can stretch her legs. She doesn't ask for much, just a lot of belly scratches!

Layla is a super gorgeous 1 to 2 year old female Sheltie mix and is 16 lbs. She is a very sweet girl and gentle girl. Since she is a little shy, she will be better off in a home without young children and lots of noise. We don't think that she would do well in the city either.

Layla is a beautiful, graceful and leggy 6-12 month old, 7 pound Chihuahua mix. She looks like a miniature Japanese Nara deer and is just as elegant when prancing around her home or in the yard. Layla is a very happy girl and gets along with everyone in her foster home. At first she s a bit shy but quickly warms up especially if some one sits on the floor to welcome her onto a warm, cushy lap. Layla is a beautiful 7 month old puppy, with the most striking blue eyes, which leads us to believe there is some Husky in the mix. It takes her a little while when meeting new people, but she is a playful puppy, and will do well in a house with another dog. She is friendly with all people and loves playing with other dogs. Her foster mom says she could play all day, yet will relax and is chill once back in the house. She loves playing in her foster neighbor's yard, and also just sitting on the front porch of her own home. Layla loves going on walks, and walks very well on the leash. She is sweet, affectionate and playful.. she loves "her people" but can be skittish around strangers. This is a very smart girl who will learn quickly. She has been through obedience training and knows basic command. She would make a great agility dog. She would do best in a home that has a steady routine without too many visitors since she is weary of strangers. Right now she is going to the dog park every day and is learning to trust more. So far she is going up to everybody for kisses. She also loves other dogs her size (she is quite small) and would love to have a friend to play with. She will be spayed Tuesday. Well-bred Shelties are bright, responsive, and devoted to the family. They are suspicious of strangers and so are good watchdogs. They love to play ball and Frisbee, so are wonderful children's companions. Their desire to please makes them easier than many other breeds to train, so they are a delight to take on walks in the park and they tend to travel well.

Leah's four puppies are just the cutest little things! There is 1 boy and 3 girls. They were born on December 7th, 2006. These babies were born in a foster home with kids ranging from ages 5-14, other dogs, and cats. Therefore, they are very well socialized and get along with everyone. Their mama, Leah, is already in her new home but we think she is some kind of a hound mix. She weighs around 40-45 lbs. and many of the puppies look almost identical to her. Since most of the puppies look like her and the others look almost like pure breed black labs, we are assuming their father was a black lab mix or something thereof. One of the puppies is black and tan, an exact mix of the lab look and their mama's tan coloring. They are all very, very friendly and kissy. They are playful and cuddly, the perfect mix! You couldn't ask for better puppies! We are accepting applications now, but they will not be able to leave until they are 8 weeks old.

Leo is a snuggly, loving puppy who loves to greet everyone he meets (dogs and people) with a wagging tail. He also loves to run and play and walks really nicely on the leash. He requires enough exercise a day to help him get out all of his puppy energy, then he will sit and cuddle with you. He loves a belly rub! He is very smart and comes to his name being called. He also knows “sit” and “come” and is starting to know “down” and “stay.” He is working on being housebroken, with a few accidents still happening. Leo does sleep through the night without any need for the bathroom. He is a puppy and needs reminders not to chew up non-puppy things, but he is easily redirected. He lets you easily pull things from his mouth using the phrase “leave it” and is working on chewing only his toys. He is the sweetest boy who, when not playing, is so gentle around children and will allow them to give him many kisses and pets. He loves to be in the middle of the family and will just crawl into your lap. He almost never barks and has a way of fitting his body so he can sit with all of him touching you. He is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met and will make a welcome addition to any house. LeeLee is an adorable little female Chihuahua, about 3 years old. She is very sweet and friendly. She is working on her housebreaking and is very good if kept on a schedule. She loves the other dogs in her foster home, both big and small. She will cuddle up on the couch at the end of the day and loves to burrow under the covers at night. She has a typical chi disposition, but a sweet love at heart.

Leeloo is a 7 year old, spayed Victorian Bulldog. She’s shy at first with other dogs, but given a little time, she warms up quickly. She shared her previous home with a canine buddy, and they frequently napped together. Her previous home had a fenced in yard to run in, however she acclimated well to a smaller apartment and frequent walks. Leeloo is a wonderful girl who just wants to lay around and be lazy, so if there is another dog in her forever home, calm is best. Leeloo loves affection, and LOVES cats. Letti is a beautiful Beagle/Spaniel mix, about a year old and 35 lbs. Lettie is a sweet and loving dog who has easily gotten into the routine of our household of 5, including 3 kids. She is completely house trained. Lettie is also a quiet dog who rarely barks! It took a few days to even hear what she was capable of. She might bark at a passing dog outside as she is attentive. Lettie is a nice combination of cuddly, lovable, and excitable at the same time. When she is playing, she is like a pup, but when she is mellow, she is like a mush! She is good with other dogs, and we have been told she is good with cats as well. is a very handsome Beagle, about 26 lbs and 2 years old. He needs to gain a couple of pounds, but is in great physical shape. Lincoln is a very sweet, loving and gentle dog. He is a perfect Beagle specimen. He is a little bit shy at first, but when you bend down to pet him or speak to him in a high pitched voice, he wags his tail and nuzzles up next to you for some petting. He is very affectionate and low-key. He is leary of loud noises and traffic, so I don't think a loud or high energy home would be good for him. He's fine with other dogs. Linds is an awesomely cute, 7 week old shepherd/lab mix who was found outside along with her siblings. She loves playing & wrestling with her siblings. She is incredibly cuddly and approaches everything she does with the greatest of attitude, wagging her tail even when she is half asleep and believe it or not, even when she was being bathed. Dynamic duo alert! This pretty pair of fawn girls is looking for their forever home together. These foster family favorites are sweet and cuddly littles who are confident, fun family members. Little Man is a senior canine approx. 17 years old and 5 lbs. of love. He was picked up as a stray (basically just thrown away). He was in awful condition; matted and had an ear & eye infection.
Little Man is very demanding and a barker, especially when he wants to be held and fed. He enjoys chasing and barking at the cats and other dogs in his foster home. When he's not enjoying these activities he's sleeping. He's not house trained. He's in a foster home that's with him 24/7 and that's what he likes. Liza is the sweetest pit bull mix you’ll ever meet. Two years old and 60 pounds, she loves people and is gentle and affectionate to everyone. She can spend hours lounging on her bed or the couch, yet is always up for a long walk, playtime or a trip in the car. She LOVES other dogs and would especially appreciate a home with an active playmate and a yard where they can run together. Being an only dog with visits to a dog park would be fine too. Her other wish would be for a human who likes cuddling as much as she does. She is very people oriented and would like to lay next to you with her head on your lap. Pet Rescue pulled her off the New York City shelter’s nightly euthanasia list because she received a perfect behavior evaluation. She has lived up to that evaluation and proven to be totally non-aggressive to people and animals. However, because she thinks it’s great fun to chase cats, she needs a feline-free home.

Lodi is an easygoing gentleman. He's 8 yrs young and about 15 lbs. While a little shy initially, he warms up to people quickly and blossoms with human companionship. He plays really well with his foster pack and isn't bothered by cats. He LOVES to snuggle on the couch and watch TV or just be scratched..... he has a happy little spirit that can be felt and seen. His coloring is that of a fawn and he looks like one when running.... He would do fine
in an apartment (he's rather small). He loves to explore (we find him popping out from behind the furniture like he's playing hide and go seek). He doesn't seem at all bothered by the comings and goings of our active household and will curl up on the couch and watch the antics of

is a beautiful and sweet Lab/hound mix. He is tall and will probably get a little taller- at about 7 months old and 54 pounds he has a little more growing to do. Logan has a cute white tip on his long black tail and the most soulful eyes. He is enjoying life with his furry foster siblings in this temporary stop before finding his forever home. Logan loves to ride in the car and sits very quietly looking out the windows, is good on a leash, and is housebroken. He shares his toys and food. He is playful yet very calm even when things around him get very busy. Although Logan enjoys his walks he loves to be warm and comfy on a nice big pillow with his chew toys. Logan may be the Jerry Seinfeld of dogs. This 30-lb., one-year-old Beagle is, in the words of his foster mom, "the sweetest, most lovable, goofy dog we have ever met." His personality and intelligence are what sets him apart, and he took all of one day to settle into a routine in his foster home. Besides the aforementioned goofiness, Logan is playful, quiet, lovable, good with all people including kids, other dogs and cats (though the cat reportedly isn't as good back). He's even been altered already…not that there's anything wrong with that.

Logan (AKA: LT) Is a two -year old mixed breed who was rescued from the Cayman Islands as a puppy. His breed is actually considered to be Pot Cake on the islands. Although we had a DNA test completed saying he is Greyhound, Staffordshire Terrier and Belgian Yervuren.
He is a very sweet, loyal and smart dog. Unfortunately he has not been able to get past his fears living in the city’s chaos. He lives with my 75-year-old mother who has become anxious walking him which has only led to increased anxiety for him. 10/2018
He has been around my 3 year old child whom he adores as if she were his best friend.
He is always in protective mode with my mother as he senses her anxiety; therefore he never appears calm, in fact refuses leash walks at times . In the suburbs he is a different dog filled with energy and love.
We have worked diligently to help him acclimate to the city with no success.
We are hoping to find LT a home where he can live free of his worries and connect with someone with whom he feels safe and does not feel the need to safe guard.
He is house broken completely, knows basic obedience and manners, and has been very active running everyday with a friend who takes him, as well as playing in dog parks. He is up to date on all vaccines. No known medical problems. His weight is 52 lbs. Lola is a very nice little lady with a good temperament. She is very affectionate, greeting you at the door with a wagging tail and lots of kisses. Lola is a lab and border collie mix and is approx. 2 years old. Her coat is very, very soft and a little curly. She is friendly, loving and very loyal. She loves to give kisses to everybody all the time and will be by your side always. She is a high energy dog and loves to run. She hasn't met a person (young or old) or dog that she doesn't like. She loves going to doggie day care so she'd be great in a dog park too! She has not been tested on cats. She really needs to go to a family with another friendly dog that she can play with and that will show her she's not alone. She is completely house trained and is also crate trained. I think her old owners trained her not to go up the stairs because she absolutely won't even if I encourage her to come upstairs to be with me. She is learning to pee and poop on wee wee pads and outside. We have brought her totally UTD on shots and she will be spayed in a week.
We rescued this sweet girl who is great with other dogs, loves to cuddle and go to the park, and now I have discovered I am high allergic to her. I cannot take shots because I just found out I am pregnant. My husband and I are now living apart because I cannot be with this cuddle bug.

He is a good boy but he is still very much a puppy who needs exercise and work on basic manners. He's smart and very eager to learn. He is housebroken and doing well with his manners training. He is a perfect gentleman in the car and sleeps through the night. Lucas lives to play fetch and will keep a ball nearby (if not in his mouth) at all times just in case you'd like to throw it for him to retrieve. He truly loves his foster family and follows them around the house at all times. Because Lucas is still young and excitable, he should go to a family with older children. Lucky is used to being with people and would spend his days in doggie day care, his owner would bring him in the morning on his way into work and pick him up at the end of the day. Now he sits at home alone all day and cries. His owners wife works all day, doesn't drive and can't care for Lucky properly. Lucky needs a home where he won't be left alone all day and a canine companion would be a plus but not a necessity. Lucky is such a good boy, gets along with other dogs, is housebroken and in great health. Lucky is a beautiful 35 lb. Weimeraner/lab mix with gorgeous markings, expressive eyes and the sweetest disposition ever. His mom is Maisy, a pure breed Weimeraner, already adopted (shown in the photo); we are not sure of the dad. He is about 8 months old and, although still a puppy, is very calm inside the house. He will nuzzle his nose into you and loves to jump on the couch for some cuddling and belly rubs. He sleeps through the night gated in the kitchen without a peep. He is still very much a puppy but has learned to walk beautifully on the leash and is almost completely housebroken. Lucky is very smart and eager to learn. Lucky just loves to be around people and another dog in the home would be a wonderful plus. He would also love a fenced in yard and/or long walks would make him soooo happy. weighing about 35 pounds and is approximately 2 years old...but boy is he wise beyond his years! Lucky is perfect on a leash and is completely house trained. Despite his lonely beginnings, this handsome boy is such a sweet,
gentle, loving soul. His foster parents can't get over how well behaved he is! He just loves his cozy crate, squeaky toys, and long walks. Lucky Joe is a sweet, loving, cuddly 1 1/2 year old boy. He looks like a German Shepherd sitting down because his corgi legs are so short yet his coloring, fur and ears are all GSD. He does have a cute corgi tail which jiggles from side to side when he meets a new friend....and everyone is his friend. He is sits quietly in the car, sleeps at his foster mom's feet while she is working, gets along with other dogs and cats and is always happy. He is also easy on a leash and not bothered by commotion around him. This guy is housebroken and passed the chewy puppy stage- in fact he is perfect. Lucy is sweet, sweet, sweet! We are guessing she is a golden mix of some sort with a gorgeous red coat but we are not sure where those ears came from -- maybe border collie? Whatever her breed, you could not ask for a sweeter dog. She is still a pup - about 7 months - and 40 lbs and just full of love and kisses. She was very scared when she first arrived (as you can see from some of her pictures) but is quickly warming up in her foster home. She's learned that she likes walks ALOT but hanging out on the couch is fun too. She seems to be housetrained, is good on a leash, and gets along with dogs, cats and kids. Because she is young and very interactive and responsive to people, she needs a home where she can get plenty of attention.

She is completely housebroken, and loves to " go to work with mom," which consists of curling up by her mom's feet under the desk. As a Border Collie, she has a strong drive to work, so she loves going for runs, hikes or bike rides with her human, but her favorite past time is chasing tennis balls with her foster fur brother . Lucy is a beautiful 8 yr old girl who will melt your heart. SHe is a lab mix and 35 lbs. She has the most soulful eyes. She is paralyzed due to a compressed disc in her back and subsequent operation. She gets around as if nothing is the matter with her wheels. Because she is paralyzed she cannot urinate on her own and you have to express her bladder every 4 hours. Also, due to the paralysis she does have chronic urinary tract infection and is currently on antibiotics. Lucy is anxious to please and would make a wonderful companion to a kind, compassionate loving person.

She was examined by a vet and had surgery to repair her injury. She is doing well and needs a home where she can continue to recuperate. She has sad, soulful eyes and is as sweet as they come.

Luna is only 8 months and as affectionate and sweet as can be. She loves everybody, including cats and other dogs, and doesn't realize she's too big to climb in your lap. She took a trip to the dog park and loved being able to run like the wind with other dogs. A kind person brought Luna to us - this sweet girl was living in a cage of a pet store for the first 6 months of her life. She is now making up for lost time and having a blast! She is living in a foster home with several other dogs, goes to the dog park daily and loves to run & play with other dogs and toys. Hi, I'm Luna, a little 17 lb, 5 yr old Norwich Terrier/Corgi mix. My owner surrendered me, but I don't understand why :(. My foster Mom says I'm super sweet, easy going and loving - I'm learning the routine of my foster home very quickly and sleep through the night without a peep. I love to walk outside which is good because I could stand to lose a few pounds. I'm good with kids, other dogs and cats, I shed a little bit and I'm just an all-around great dog. Alternatively she loves her bed on the floor and will be very comfortable there. She walks nicely in her harness, does well on car drives, and obeys basic commands. She is not a barker and will only bark to alert you that someone is at the door. She seems to tolerate a cat, but wants to give you all her love and prefers to be your one and only canine family member. Luna has not had any experience with young children. is a purebreed Boxer weighing 34 lbs. She is still a puppy and is only about 8-10 months old. She came to us from a high-kill shelter and something in her past has traumatized her, which breaks our hearts since she is so young. She loves people and is very sweet, gentle and affectionate, but is very fearful of loud noises (traffic) and other dogs. She is tentative and unsure in new situations. She would not walk more than a few steps when she first came to us and now walks nicely on quiet streets. She has come a long way since being with Pet Rescue, but she has a long way to go. She now wags her little tail and is happy to see the volunteers that walk her and spend time cuddling her. She needs a special home with lots of TLC and patience to help her come out of her shell and reassure her that everything will be ok. She needs to be an only dog. Lyle has a very lush and long coat. He looks a lot like a Golden and has the calm and gentle personality of a mature Golden. He is about 3 years old and around 60 lbs. He is good with other dogs except large male dogs. He is gentle on the leash and already knows some basic commands. He was given up by his owner because he was heartworm positive. We have had him treated and he is ready to go to his forever home now. He is in a foster home and they report that Lyle is a very nice boy. He is calm, great with kids and other dogs (except large males), seems to be fully housebroken, walks well on leash and obeys commands. He seems to be afraid of men and would prefer an all-female household.
