Molly and Wishbone are Boxer-Hound mix puppies and are around three months old. They each weigh 12lbs. Molly is very sweet and loves to be around other people and other dogs. She enjoys chewing on sticks outside, running around the yard and exploring. She is a little shy at first and very smart. She loves her brother Wishbone. Wishbone is white with tan spots. He is very docile, loves to run around with his sister, and nuzzle up against any person he can find. He loves dogs, people and cats. Both puppies would be great family pets. Both are crate trained, and are somewhat paper trained.

Indiana and Jones are two adorable little male chihuahua mixes. Typical of eight week old puppies, they are sweet, loving and playful. They adapted very quickly to living in a foster home. They love to wrestle and then cuddle with each other at night.

is a loving and playful 4 1/2 year old dachsie mix. He loves to go for walks, car rides, play with kids and dogs and just be involved in the action. He is incredibly loving and lavishes his people with sweet kisses. Radar would do best in a home with some one around most of the time or where he could go to work with his favorite person. I run like the wind & my foster mom tells me that I’m the fastest pup she has ever had. My walking on the leash is not bad just a little bit of work will do. is a petite little guy weighing only 10 lbs at 2 years old. He was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and will need major surgery. He is currently doing hydro therapy which help his condition. Please donate to help us pay for his medical costs.

Ralph is a great dog. He is a 2-3 yr old Flat Coat Retriever, weighs about 60lbs. He is very sweet, a little shy gets along with all, but gets nervous around people who approach quickly. Ralph is a handsome 2 year old 32lb heeler-terrier mix that arrived at Pet Rescue with his brother who has since been adopted. Ralph is super friendly with people and wants nothing more than to be with people all of the time. He has become our dog walker's favorite because he doesn't pull at all on his leash. Ralph loves long leisurely walks finished off with a cuddle. He has been good with children but can be dog selective at times.

Hello all! My name is Ralph Kramden (white) and this is my brother Ed Norton (black). We are 7-8 month old Pit (50%), American Bulldog (40%) and Neapolitan Mastiff (10%) mixes. And YES, our mom did get a DNA test for us. When we were two months old, a wonderful lady rescued us from a man who was planning to use us as bait dogs in fighting rings. She was paying for us to be boarded in Manhattan until we could find a proper home that could take us together. You see, I'm deaf, and it was thought I would need to rely on my brother in our new home. Our new mom adopted us and quickly learned we are bonded through LOVE, but not through dependency. I am super smart and learn hand signals as quickly and easily as a hearing dog learns voice commands - sometimes I even learn faster than my brother! We learned a lot in our new home... we are completely house & crate trained, walk well on a leash and know basic commands. We are fantastic with other dogs, don't seem to mind cats, and friendly with everyone we meet. We are neutered and totally up to date on shots. Our mom also got us a complete health/blood panel and everything turned up great! So you are probably thinking... WHAT'S THE PROBLEM!? Well the issue is our mom has a big heart and was hoping us big dogs could manage in her small apartment - but she is being proven wrong! We are about 65 lbs each (and will grow about 5 more lbs). We are puppies and LOVE to play. The neighbors are complaining it sounds like a stampede and a dog kennel when we run! We sometimes bark when we are playing and the bottom line is, the condo board feels we are too much dog for too small a space. We would love a new home with a yard or more space indoors... and maybe someone that is home a little more. Although she got us dog walkers and we go to daycare or the dog park, being best friends means it's always time for having fun. Because of our size, we think we would do best in a home with children over 8 years old because we sometimes jump up when we are playing (but are working on it). Oh and we will come with everything we need to be happy puppies... crates, gates, beds, toys, treats, food, leashes, harnesses, bowls, tags... even a spray to make us smell pretty! All we need is a bigger space to let loose and for someone to love us. Can you be our new angel?

To All Dog Lovers: Norton and Ralph are two very special dogs. I have tried everything to appease the board and get the dogs to stay quiet when we are home... but at the same time it's not fair to them to constantly be cooped up. They love each other and they love to play - but like any good pack leader, you have to know when you have bitten off more than you can chew. There is no doubt these dogs will be a wonderful addition to the right family. Please if you can, open your hearts and your homes to these brothers before I have no choice but to separate them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

is a very sweet and handsome Pomeranian/Peke mix, about 1 1/2 years old and 12 lbs. He has a calm, layed-back personality. He is fine with other pets as long as they are not in his face. He is very much a snuggle boy. He would do best with older kids due to his size. He is house broken and does not like the hot weather. He starts huffing and puffing in the heat. He loves to be cool and will even go into the water to cool off. He loves the woods and would love to chase whaterver moves if he could. He struts around on the leash like a little show dog. Everybody who sees him falls in love with this little boy. He is also good with cats as long as they give him his space. He loves to sleep like a baby in your arms. He is very spoiled in his foster home and hopes to find a forever home that will spoil for the rest of his life. He will pay back with lots of love and affection.

Rambo
is an adorable and very playful 7 month old, 28 pound pup. He loves to romp with his foster siblings (two much bigger retriever mixes and one smaller beagle/basset mix) and even likes to play with the cats. He is housebroken and good on a leash. Rambo is learning how to catch a ball and is entertained by all toys. He is passed the chewy stage but still finds all toys and laundry very interesting (his favorite sleeping spot is in the laundry basket). He comes when called, shares his food and toys, and thinks that car rides are the best. Rambo would enjoy an active home since he loves to have people and other critters around. Rambo was born with hip dysplasia and was evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon as well as consulted with by the orthopedic dept of Cornell University Vet School. It was determined that he is doing so well that surgery is not needed at this time. He will be fine as long as he gets exercised and kept trim. He is an amazing runner and climber. Rambo is a handsome Basset mix who is house trained. Rambo is a people dog he loves everyone he meets, covering them with kisses. Even though Rambo has short legs he can be very active and loves long walks. He knows sit and down and would benefit from continued manners training with his new family. He weighs about 40 lbs and he's about a year old. He would prefer to be the only furry friend in the home.

Ranco is an adorable 15-lb. Schnauzer mix with a silky black coat, a white chest and white feet. This 1-year-old boy is from the South so he is gradually learning to like frigid temperatures and snow. He is shy and gentle and would do well with a gentle dog to play with and show him the ropes. He loves belly rubs and treats and is quickly learning to sit for snacks. He likes his crate and often climbs in it for a nap. He is a gentle, quiet boy who is sweet, sweet, sweet!

We can't imagine how someone could have done it, but Randall was dumped at a local shelter at the ripe old age of 8. One of our volunteers pulled this little miniature pinscher mix from the shelter after seeing him living in a tiny cage suffering from untreated respiratory ailments, with an infected eye and bad teeth, and unneutered. We knew he would have a better chance with us. Three vet visits later, he is (almost) as good as new. Randall is a gentle soul and a wonderful companion. He loves people and is fine with cats and dogs. His main interests in life are cuddling, enthusiastically greeting his foster parents when they come home, going for a walk to get lots of good sniffs, and sleeping. Give him a blanket and he will wiggle his way under it to take a long snooze. He is an easy dog and doesn't require a lot of exercise. Randall weighs 10 pounds and will need to have continued treatment for his eye - wiped clean and ointment applied on an ongoing basis.

He has learned to sit and come when called. He is working on his down and stay and is 90% housebroken (just a few accidents). Ranger sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to his foster parents. He is currently living in a foster home with 3 older kids and 2 dogs. He is a "hugger" .. he will put his 2 front paws on your chest to hug or he might try to cuddle up on your lap like a lap dog. This might be too much for young kids or older people. He is also somewhat of an escape artist, so if you have a fenced yard it must be very secure. Ranger is a wonderful dog who will make a terrific and loyal companion.

is the cutest little boy! At just about 9 weeks old, he already has a big personality! He still weighs only around 6-8 lbs, but thinks he weighs 60-80! Rascal gets along very, very well with everyone (dogs, cats, and kids) and absolutely adores attention. He will do anything to be with you--if it means taking a nap with you, playing with you, or just sitting at your feet, he could care less! He is only a baby so he is still in his chewing stage and not yet housebroken, but that should come pretty easily as he is a very smart pup! He already know how to sit too! We are pretty sure that Rascal is going to say on the small side (under 25 lbs), but we can never guarantee this as he is a total mutt! You couldn't ask for a better puppy!

Rascal is truly a little rascal and a gem at the same time. He is part of the Doxie pups that are 12 weeks old. He is the first one to play and the last one to fall asleep. He loves to run, jump, tumble, all the things puppies love. He is learning to walk on a leash and is papertrained. He is now about 6 lbs, but because of his size, he should go to a home with children over 8 yrs old.

Rascal is an adorable little Yorkie (mix?), about 2 years old. He loves to be with his foster mom and be the center of her attention. He is very sweet, cuddly and playful -- and housebroken too! He is friendly playing with other dogs and hanging out with them but he does guard his food and toys so please, a home without small children and no other dogs is a must. When his foster mom goes to work, he just naps on her bed and is happy to see her again when she comes home. Razzle is a 2 year old English Setter, about 54 lbs. He is completely housebroken and crate trained, Razzle is a gentleman indoors content to bird watch or lay near by. He does not bark, jump or chew on the furniture. He is well behaved walking through doorways and riding in the car. He enjoys the attention of being brushed and does not appear to shed very much. He is moderately active outdoors and should go to a home where he can exercise daily. Brisk walks or a fenced yard would be ideal. Rebel is anything but a rebel! He is a very sweet 3 month old Jack Russell Terrier mix and weighs about 12 pounds. Rebel loves to cuddle and play with his foster siblings - both human and furry! Red is very happy being carried around so he can see everyone at eye level. He sleeps through the night and shares his toys. He does like to have his food all to himself though. His age may be 7 but there are so many amazing traits a senior dog possesses. 1) He is completely housebroken. He has never had an accident in his foster home and even goes to the door and barks to let you know he needs to go out (great because there is no need to go through the housebreaking process – DONE!). 2) You can leave for work and know that your house will be in perfect condition when you come home. Red will play with his toys, nap in the sun or in his crate and patiently wait for you to come home to him. He will even be your home security system and let anyone who comes to your door know that he is on the job! (Peace of mind all around – DONE!) 3) When you get home Red greets you with a wagging tail and lots of kisses. He loves to go for a walk (great on the leash) and some play time. He even knows lots of commands – sit, stay, paw, down. Pretty impressive, right? (Playful and smart – DONE!). The only thing he asks for is to be your one and only furry companion. No other dogs or cats please as he wants you all to himself :). As you can see, Red is a must-see boy who would make a wonderful addition to a special family with older children.

Redford is a sweet and gentle boy. He has been an outdoor dog all his life but will adjust easily to a new life on with a warm doggie bed and love. He and Sampson are brothers, both are calm and love each other. They are very gentle dogs but we have not tested them with young children. They are about 1 1/2 years old and around 34 lbs. He’s about 1 to 2 years old with a slender build weighting about 45 lbs. It’s hard to start with what his attributes are, as he has so many. He is house broken, walks well on a leash, sleeps all night in his crate, but does not need to be crated. He is good with children and cats. He is gentle and not a big jumper. He plays well with other dogs but only if they want to. He will not persist if there is no interest. He is a gentle eater and only eating when he wants. He is the perfect dog and would love to be in a forever home to be loved.

Reese is a 4 1/2 year old male mixed breed dog. He is a beautiful, brindle patterned pup with big ears and a lean running body. Reese is sweet and playful. He loves to run in the woods or the snow, chase sticks, and play on the beach. He loves playing with other dogs and going for long walks. He is very well mannered with a secure walker on the leash and is super behaved indoors. At home, Reese never barks unless there is a knock on the door and he loves to lay in the best sun spot in the house. He is super smart and very easily trained with consistency. Reese is an anxious dog and can have a hard time in new situations and with new people. He needs a calm and assertive owner. As we are starting a family we can't keep Reese since is not good with kids. Reese would do amazing in a house with adults who love to be outside. is a beautiful, purebred 20 lb. ShihTzu who was removed from deplorable conditions at a breeders with Kelly. He is extremely easy going and very social. He is very well adjusted and thrives on attention. He is housebroken, too. Regis has been to an eye specialist for a comprehensive exam. He does have a little bit of scarring on his left eye and will need daily drops for the dryness. His right eye is fine. He is a super little dog and since he is very attached to Kelly, we are looking for a special person with a big heart that would love two great dogs.

Remi (short for Remington) is 6-7 years old and weighs about 20 lbs. This gorgeous blonde is being given up by a woman who is moving into an assisted living apt that does not allow dogs. Remi is very sweet, affectionate and very much a lap dog. He is full of personality. He carries his leash in his mouth when he wants to go for a walk and rolls over for a belly rub (which starts him grunting in approval). He is very regal and handsome. As a young pup (5 mos), she's learning her house manners and can still be nippy. Remi likes other dogs and seems to ignore cats. She likes chasing balls, and walks nicely on the leash, but then will cuddle up with you on the couch for a nap. Remington is a beautiful lab mix with a shiny black coat and big brown eyes that will just melt your heart. He is about 10 months old and weights only 31lbs - so he is on the smaller side. is a 1 year old girl that is very affectionate. She would be perfect for someone that that is active and loves to hike or take long walks. She would be great at flyball. She LOVES to play with her toys and can jump up real high to get it. So far she appears to be good with cats and dogs. She was abused as a puppy, but it has not stopped her from being fanstatic with people. She is very smart and does not bark much at all. She is house broken too. This is a fun dog with lots of personality.

Remy is a typical happy puppy. He enjoys lots of active play time followed by a nice nap. He is very playful, good with children (not under 5 please), loves his squeaky toys and chewing on bones. He is very smart, as he will look for a specific toy when asked.
He will follows his foster mom from room to room - rather than stay alone. He is a cuddler on the couch. He is either right next to one of us or has his head or paw resting on us almost as if he's making sure we're there. He'll give kisses when asked and even sneak a few in when your not looking. Rhodie is a 3-4 year old Schnauzer and weighs around 18 lbs. He was rescued from a breeder and is just learning what it is like to be a pet-turns out he is a very fast learner! Rhodie is already completely housebroken, walks well on the leash and is good in the car. He gets along well with other dogs and tolerates the cats in his foster home. Rhodie loves to go for long walks and enjoys his chew toys. He is still a little shy and initially hesitant around new people, but will warm up once he gets to know them. His foster family had both dogs and cats and he was good with them all. Riley has had a rough first year of life as he was found emaciated with his sister Tiley in a vacant apartment. However, he is very forgiving and doesn’t mind the extra food he's getting to gain weight. He is very sweet boy, good with other dogs, but can at times dominate females. Riley is low-key, likes lying in the grass, going for walks, and being pet, brushed and loved. Rocky is a Terrier/Pomeranian mix who is about 12 weeks old will be about 20 lbs at maturity. He is a sweet boy who is energetic and loves to play and run around outdoors. He is almost fully paper trained. He gets along with his sister Daisy but will take toys from her even if there are two. Rocky is inquisitive and likes to check things out. This is a nice and calm puppy who has spurts of energy. I think he would be great with children since he is not at all nippy.

Rocky is an approximately 65 pound australian shepherd/rottweiler mix. We adopted him from an Illinois shelter when he was about 12 weeks old. Rocky was born in September 2004, and is currently 7 years old, going on 8. Rocky is an active dog, but recently has developed some arthritis in one rear hip joint that mildly affects his mobility. Rocky enjoys walks and chewing sticks in the yard. He enjoys affection, but is also content to sleep on his own unbothered by people. Rocky has lived in our family with another adult dog and the two get along perfectly. Rocky has never lived with cats. Rocky is never aggressive with people or animals, but he does have a rottweiler's growl and bark and can therefore sound intimidating at first to those who don't know him. Rocky has lived in our family with two small children without issue, but as his advancing age and limited mobility have left him a bit slower than he used to be, he is best suited to a family without young children. Please only apply for these puppies if you are able to adopt both. Rocky and Sklylar are just about 8 weeks old and will be small dogs when fully grown. They are so sweet and snuggly. There is one male (all black) and one female. They are about 3-4 lbs each and would love to find a loving home together. They are used to older kids, cats and love other dogs too. These are very well socialized little pups. We don't know what their breed is, Chihuahua is just a guess, since they will be small dogs. Rodney's pictures do not do this adorable beagle mix justice! He is incredibly sweet, loving and playful. He is living with other puppies and is having the time of his life. Rodney has taught his new friends how to play hide and seek, king of the hill and tug of war. When they are all tired out they pile up for a nap. Rodney also loves being held and massaged. He has been living in a loving foster home for the past 5 months and has come a long way, but still has a long way to go. He takes treats from his foster mom's hand and let's her pick him up to get petted, but tenses up before he relaxes. He does not willingly go up to her on his own. He is friendly with other dogs of all sizes - in fact, he needs a home that has at least one other friendly dog who can teach him that the world is a fun, happy place. He shares in all dog activities - toys, treats, outdoor exploring, playing and napping. He is cat-friendly and house trained too. Roger needs a special human with patience, love and understanding to give him the time he needs to adjust to living as a beloved pet and family member. Ronnie is an absolutely gorgeous German Shepherd mix (almost all Shepherd!) who is a very special girl :). She is about 5 years old, 47 lbs and as sweet as can be. Ronnie is almost housebroken when kept on a schedule, sleeps in her foster parent's room on her own bed at night, does not get up on the furniture and loves to play fetch with her squeaky balls. She also loves long walks in the park, belly rubs and good cuddles! Ronnie is very, very smart and knows some commands. With a little training she could really be amazing. is about 9 weeks old and around 10 lbs. She seems to be smaller than a lab pup. Very sweet and gentle pup. These pups are really exceptional. They are so sweet tempered. They love to play, but they are not hyper. They also love to have their bellies rubbed and cuddle.

Rosa is a 2 year old Pekingnese, weighs 10 lbs and is absolutely adorable! She can be shy at first but once she warms up she will not leave your side. Rosa loves to go for walks and stays right next to her foster mom at all times (even at the dog park). She gets along well with the other dogs and cats in her foster home and would love to find a home with another dog. Rosa came to us with "dry eye" which requires daily treatment (one drop in each eye twice a day). She is paper trained and housebroken if kept on a regular schedule. Rosa is a low-shedder and sleeps quietly through the night. Because of her size, she cannot go to families with children under 8 yrs of age.

We are not sure where his feathery tale comes from, He is still very much a puppy at 18 months and loves to romp with his 2 legged and 4 legged friends. This little girl is the result of a divorce. Unfortunately she lost her home because of that. She is only 9 months old about 6 lbs and has a deformed leg. This does not stop her and she is just as beautiful as can be. She has papers. She loves to play and is still in the chewing age. She does not seem to be house broken. This girl is a real love. She is very friendly with everybody. Good with other dogs and cats. Even though you can see she has never met a cat. In fact she tried to get the cats to play with her. She will do great in a home with older and gentle children. She can be brushed and combed easily. Rover is an adorable Pekepoo, about a year old. This sweet, happy boy can be a little on the shy side and needs a loving home with someone who will help him come out of his shell. Rover is a gorgeous Lab mix, about 2-3 years old. He came to us with an injury (probably hit by a car) and had to have surgery on his hip. He has recovered nicely and it is a joy to see him run around the yard now. He can be extremely anxious around strangers so he would be best with a dog savvy individual. Also, we have yet found a dog-friend that he is comfortable with so he should be an only dog.

He is loving, playful and he loves squeaky and small stuffed toys. He is trained on wee wee pads and on leash as well as crate trained. He knows rowdy come, wait, no, up, in, out and off. He likes to always be nearby and snuggle in bed. Loves to give kisses. Rowdy is a happy playful loving dog, but he takes time to trust. He does have limited sight, so he does startle easily. It does not stop him from getting around one bit!

Roxy is a beautiful and friendly Anatolian Shepherd mix. She is approximately 3 years old and weighs 90 pounds. Roxy loves people (adults and kids); she seems to wag her entire body as a "hello" greeting. She is house trained and gets along well with other dogs (and tolerates cats as well). Roxy came to Pet Rescue with torn ligaments in both of her hind knees. She had surgery in both knees several months ago and has recovered nicely (see latest videos of her chasing the ball and playing in the water at the beach). Roxy loves to play with balls and sticks, and loves the beach and dog parks. She walks well on leash and generally listens to commands, but when determined to go in a specific direction she can have a strong pull. Roxy is a loving and playful dog that will make a great addition to any family.

Roxy and her brother Rocky are two 10 week old puppies. They are a ton of fun and extremely playful. They are learning to do their business outside quite well. They sleep through the night and love to play and eat. Although they like other dogs, and kids, they still have puppy teeth, puppy nails and use them often so a home with older teens is better.

is a handsome fellow, about a year old and 58 lbs. He is still very much a puppy and loves to run & play. He needs some training since he does jump up and doesn't know his size but when he does jump up on you he literally gives you a big bear hug with his 2 front legs and a sweet kiss on the lips - what a fantastic companion. All he wants to do is please you; he is very sweet and affectionate. He knows some basic commmands like sit and is good with other dogs, although can be somewhat overpowering and exuberant. This little guy is only about 12 lbs and full of love. He is easy, gentle and a real nice dog. He is aobut 2 years old and the foster home thinks he is just great. He was positive for heart worm and treated for it last month. He has a slight heart murmer which could be due to the heartworm. It does not affect him at all and he is a very happy fellow. Rufus may be a little peculiar looking, but looks can be deceiving – he is a great dog and a total snuggle bug!! Rufus is a great little guy that is about 1 year old and 19lbs. He sleeps through the night on his bed and is a total people pleaser. He does fine in a crate, but probably doesn’t need one. He is a sweet boy who will quickly steal your heart with his lively personality and enthusiasm to love! He is always excited to greet you when you get home and loves to snuggle with his humans! He absolutely loves people but is frightened of other dogs since he was never exposed to them. He needs a gentle, quiet household to help him relax and know that he will not be abandoned again. Rusty is a gorgeous and well behaved German Shepherd mix dog. He is about 75 lbs and around 1-2 years old. He is tall and slim. He has never been an indoor dog and is a little worried when he comes in, he is a great dog.

Rusty is the cutest guy with the most expressive brown eyes. He is a Beagle/Spaniel mix with just a little Jack Russell added to give him that extra-special personality. Rusty is between 5 and 6 years old and weighs around 30 pounds. He is completely housebroken, walks very well on the leash and rides great in a car. He also sleeps through the night (preferably cuddled up next to his foster mom) and does not stir until he hears someone up and about. He is friendly with other dogs and does a great little happy dance when he sees you're ready for a walk. Rusty knows his basic commands (see video) and is crate trained. His favorite activity though is cuddling. His head will always end up in your lap or he'll be at your feet waiting for a quick scratch between the ears. Rusty's only little quirk is that he is weary of strangers, but if introduced slowly and quietly, his tail will begin wagging and he'll make them part of the family. He is so easy to take care of and is a truly special dog that wants to give you his undying love and devotion. He's a great boy!

Rusty is about 25 lbs, 1-2 years old and very pretty. He a very good boy and very well behaved. He looks like a Pharaoh hound mix. He is very cuddly and loves to sit in your lap. He is good with other dogs and plays very appropriately. He is enrolled in our tracking class and is really good at it. He just loves to be out there and have fun. He would do best in an adult home or a home with older children since he can still be a bit mouthy when he gets excited.

Rusty is an easy going approximately 10yr old, 10 lb guy saved from the Hurricane Harvey. He is low maintenance, housebroken (will scratch at the door), loves car rides, napping, leisurely strolls and barking at airplanes! He prefers cream cheese over peanut butter and will follow you around the house where ever you go. Rusty can be fearful with new people, but is fine with slow, proper introductions. No small children for him. He gets along with his housemates, big and small, but would probably do best with no cat or a dog savvy cat as he likes to bark at them. Crate trained too, but this man prefers the coziness of your bed.

She's gotten used to walking on the leash and is beginning to enjoy walks and exploring the back yard. Ryleigh is the sweetest, and most gentle lady. She is a 12 pound chihuahua around 8 years old. Ryleigh was used as a breeding dog and then discarded. Now in a loving home she just loves to be held, watch a little TV and be pampered. Ryeleigh gets along with all the other critters in her foster home although she is quite happy being with the adults who care for her. She would love a home where she will be safe and loved. She is a really good leash walker and loves her walks, but overall she is a quiet dog that is not very high energy. She adapts easily to change and just goes with the flow. She is a real love!
